Equation  By Substitution/Elimination  Method:

y   =    -3x    +    4;      y    =    4x     -    10

Let's solve your system by substitution.

y     =     −3x     +    4;       y     =    4x    −    10

Step: Solve       y      =     −3x    +     4     for y:

y       =      −3x       +      4

Step: Substitute      −3x      +    4     for     y     in     y    =     4x     −    10:

y     =     4x    −    10

−3x      +     4     =     4x    −    10

−3x      +     4    +        −4x       =4x     −   10    +    −4x   (Add -4x to both sides):

−7x      +     4     =     −10

−7x      +     4     +      −4     =     −   10    +    −4     (Add -4 to both sides):

-7x        =      -14

-7x/ -7     =     -14/ -7   ( Divide both sides by  -7):

x      =      2

Step 2:  Substitute         2        for     x      in       y     =     −3x    +    4:

y      =       −3x     +    4

y       =    (−3)(2)     +     4

y       =        −2         (Simplify both sides of the equation)

Answer:

x    =     2       and       y       =      −2

Hope that helps!!!!

You graph a rectangle on a coordinate plane that has vertices (0,0), (3,0), (0,2), and (3,2). You then rotate that figure 360 de
wolverine [178]
From the points given we know that the rectangle is 3 points wide and 2 points tall. If we rotate it 360^{\circ} around the x axis then we will receive the lying cyllinder which will be 3 points tall and 2 points wide (so its radius is 2/2 = 1 point). Now we can find the surface area of the cyllinder using appropriate formula:
A=2\pi r^2 + 2\pi rh=2\pi*1^2 + 2 \pi * 1 * 3=2\pi + 6\pi=8\pi\approx 25.13

2. Solve x - 19 <81. Then graph the solution.
mr_godi [17]

Answer:

x<100

Step-by-step explanation:

The given equation is :

x-19<81

Adding 19 to both sides of the equation.

x-19+19<81+19

x<100

It means the solution of the given equation is less than 100. Hence, the attached figure shows the graph for the given equation.

What is the equation of the line that passes through the points (-4,-1) and (6,-1)
Solnce55 [7]

Answer:

slope= 0

Step-by-step explanation:

m = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)

m= (-4-1),(6-1)

subtract the x1 and y1 which is -1--1 equal to 0

now same goes for x2/y2 we subtract them

which we end up getting 10

but because we have 0 whatever number we get it doesn't matter because at the end our answer will end up being 0.
