Vivien tells her that she is carrying on a secret affair with the married Lancelot who plans to leave his wife and marry her. After Vivien leaves, Mary, a servant girl, confesses to Guinevere that she threw herself at Lancelot. Moments later, Lancelot appears and he shares a steamy kiss with Guinevere but they ultimately decide to forget their attraction to one another and the married woman resumes darning her husband's socks.</span>
