The answer is <span>b. all of her sons will inherit the allele for hemophilia.</span>

Hemophilia is X-linked recessive disorder. It is known that <span>there are two X chromosomes (one from a mother and one from a father) in females and one X chromosome (from the mother) and one Y chromosomes (from the father) in males. In females, X-linked recessive disorder has the same pattern of inheritance as an autosomal recessive disorder.
So, if xh is recessive and xH is dominant allele, a mother which has xhxh genotype has the condition (so, c is not the right answer). Further, if a father has no condition, thus his genotype is xHy, their daughters will be carriers but without the condition (so, the choice a could be right only if we know that the father has hemophilia too (xhy). Therefore, since the mother (xhxh) will give her x chromosome to her sons, they will all inherit the allele for hemophilia, and choice b. is the right answer.</span>

The diagram shows an experiment on the digestion of the protein in egg albumen by protease.
laila [671]

Answer:

<u>C</u>. containing

  • <u><em>egg albumen </em></u>
  • <u><em>protease </em></u>
  • <u><em>dilute  hydrochloric  acid</em></u>

Explanation:

A protease is a kind of peptidase enzyme that breaks down proteins into peptide molecules. As a digestive enzyme it is located in the lining of the stomach where, relative to the hydrochloric acid in digestive juices, the pH is usually low/ acidic.

<em>Enzymes speed up reaction rates by </em><em>providing alternative pathways</em>. By modifying the enzyme composition, supplying more collision energy, and changing the collisions between and the ratio of reactants, certain variables will increase the reaction rate.

Proteases function well at 37℃, the typical internal temperature of the human body- this temperature provides adequate energy for the reaction. Similarly, proteases require low pH for the correct configuration, and beyond this pH and temperature, they may become denatured or simply not function well as catalysts.

I'm doing the fresh fruit vs canned fruit experiment and if I prepared the fruit a different way would it effect the gelatin
WARRIOR [948]

Answer:

How the gelatin is prepared can affect the result.

Explanation:

To perform this experiment efficiently, you need to prepare the jelly made from fresh fruit and the jelly made from canned fruit equally. That's because if you modify the ways of preparing the gelatins, they will show many differences and you won't be able to tell if this difference was caused only by the nature of the fruits, or by the way of preparation. Therefore, the way the gelatins were prepared can modify the experiment result and leave it imprecise and unreliable.
