Use in the elimination mentioned for this problem<br><br> 6x+5y=11<br> x+y =6
Oliga [24]

Answer:

{x = -19 , y = 25

Step-by-step explanation: System solved by elimination

Solve the following system:

{6 x + 5 y = 11 | (equation 1)

{x + y = 6 | (equation 2)

Subtract 1/6 × (equation 1) from equation 2:

{6 x + 5 y = 11 | (equation 1)

{0 x+y/6 = 25/6 | (equation 2)

Multiply equation 2 by 6:

{6 x + 5 y = 11 | (equation 1)

{0 x+y = 25 | (equation 2)

Subtract 5 × (equation 2) from equation 1:

{6 x+0 y = -114 | (equation 1)

{0 x+y = 25 | (equation 2)

Divide equation 1 by 6:

{x+0 y = -19 | (equation 1)

{0 x+y = 25 | (equation 2)

Collect results:

Answer:  {x = -19 , y = 25

Find the slope of the graph
ahrayia [7]

Hi there! Your answer is -1/9

Please see an explanation for a better and clear understanding to your problem.

Any questions about my answer and explanation can be asked through comments!:)

Step-by-step explanation:

\large \boxed{ m = \frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1} }

The formula above is slope formula. We will be using this to find a slope of a line.

From the graph, there are two points which are (4,0) and (-5,1).

You can either let (4,0) = (x1, y1) or (x2, y2) but I will be letting (-5,1) =(x2, y2)

Substitute the coordinate points in.

\large{m =  \frac{1 - 0}{ - 5 - 4} } \\ \large{m =  \frac{1}{ -  9} } \\  \large{m =  -  \frac{1}{9} }

Hence, the slope is - 1/9. If you are curious where m-term comes from, it comes from y = mx+b where m = slope and b = y-intercept.

Benny is 12 years old. He is currently 200% of his sisters age. What percent of Benny's age will his sisters age be in 4 years?
CaHeK987 [17]
If Benny is 12 right now, that means that he is twice his sisters age because he is 200% of or 2 times his sister's age. His sister right now is 6 years old then.
After 4 years, Benny will be 16 (add 4 to 12) and his sister will be 10.
To find the percentage, divide his age by his sister's age and make it a percentage.
16/10=1.6=160%
Hope this helps.

What are two ways that graphing a linear inequality is different from graphing a linear equation?
77julia77 [94]
One way is that an inequality can have a dotted or solid line and another way is that you shade one side of the on an inequality.
