If I had gotten the lowest mark in the assignment, I would ask myself about the reason for this bad grade. A very probable reason is that I had not studied enough- probably I was distracted by other activities, such as watching a movie. However, since it resulted in a bad grade, I would want to change this behaviour next time and I would prepare for the exam instead of watching the movie!

Read the excerpt below and answer the question. That if any one man choose to enslave another, no third man shall be allowed to
gladu [14]

An inference is someone's belief or opinion based only on the information that he/she knows.

"Squatter sovereignty" was a term used by the people that disagreed with the political doctrine which stated that the owners of federal territories should decide if their lands would enter the Union as slave or free states.

The inference being made in the excerpt is the belief that slavery should be allowed inside the territories of people who chose to enslave others, without the interference of anybody else.

kotykmax [81]

Answer:

Compare Mr. White's feelings about the monkey's paw when he makes his first, second and third wishes. How does his attitude change?

When Mr. White first hears about the magical powers of the monkey's paw, he does not believe the story and casually wishes for two hundred pounds. After his son's death, Mr. White remains incredulous but reluctantly makes a second wish. By the time Mr. White makes his third wish, he recognizes the paw's nefarious magical powers and is terrified to use it. Mr. White only makes the third wish to spare his wife from seeing their undead son.
