Bing's classmates' notion of him represents a prejudice.

A prejudice is a belief or preconceived idea about a person just because of his/her membership to a group. In the case, Bing pertains to the group "inmigrants with Chinese origin", hence students quickly linked him to martial arts, which are also related to this human group where they have embodied Bing.

Sometimes prejudices arise just because a person apparently pertains to a group. It could have been the case that Bing had both Chinese name and physical features but had been born in the US, and his parents too. Hence, they might be not inmigrants anymore but prejudices have made the others think so.

Nikolay [14]

Authoritarian parenting is characterized by very high expectations for children with a lack of feedback and responsiveness from the parent. Authoritarian parents punish mistakes harshly but offer little explanation for their rules and punishments.

If any of those ring true we might be an authoritarian parents. Authoritarian parents believe kids should follow the rules without exception.

Authoritarian parents may use punishments instead of discipline. So, rather than teach a child how to make better choices, they're invested in making kids feel sorry for their mistakes. Children who grow up with strict authoritarian parents tend to follow rules much of the time. But, their obedience comes at a price.

Why is the fundamental attribution error considered an error?
Maurinko [17]

Answer:

fundamental attribution error is considered an error because of the fundamental attribution error, we tend to believe that others do bad things because they are bad people. We’re inclined to ignore situational factors that might have played a role.

Explanation:

The fundamental attribution error is our tendency to explain someone's behavior based on internal factors, such as personality or disposition, and to underestimate the influence that external factors, such as situational influences, have on another person's behavior.

So, the fundamental attribution error explains why we often judge others harshly while letting ourselves off the hook at the same time by rationalizing our own unethical behavior.
