Restrictive lung disease or disorder are the condition of the extrapulmonary, or parenchymal respiratory disease that resists the expansion of lungs.
This leads to decrease in the lung volume, inadequate ventilation and decreased lung volume and increased work of breathing.
It is also characterized by the decreased residual volume. In this case the amount of air is not expired out completely due to restrictive respiratory disorder.
