So basically each of the tile sides measure one foot, since one foot = 12 inches.
We will call one of the tiles a unit.
And since the room is 14 feet by 10 feet, we can multiply the two dimensions together to see how many units fit into the room.
14 * 10 = 140
And so now we know that we need 140 tiles.
And since each tile costs $1.25, we can multiply that by 140 to get the total cost.
1.25 * 140 = $175

So it will cost Emma $175 to complete her project.

We know that 1 foot =12 inches so area of 1 tile is 1 ft square
total area of room =14*10=140 ft square
total tiles required= 140/1=140 tiles
cost of 1 tile = 1.25$
cost of 140 tiles= 1.25 *140=175$

alisha [4.7K]

Answer:

The fraction of the tank is filled with gasoline is \frac{3}{8}.

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider the provided information.

Jamal filled his gas tank and then use 7/16 of the tank for traveling to visit his grandfather.

After his first traveling the amount of gas left can be calculated as:

1-\frac{7}{16}

\frac{16-7}{16}

\frac{9}{16}

He then used 1/3 of the remaining gas in the tank to run around town.

That means he left with 2/3 of gas.

\frac{9}{16}\times \frac{2}{3}

\frac{3}{8}

Hence, the fraction of the tank is filled with gasoline is \frac{3}{8}.
