So all you need to do if find the min of the function:

f(x)=0.04x^3-4x^2-176x
f'(x)=0.12x^2-8x-176
The only zero for this is x=84.105 <---first
Plug this into f(x) to get f(84.105)=-19300 <---second

Question 3 : enlarge each shape by the scale factor given a) enlager by scale factor -2 using (0,0) as the center of enlargement
Hoochie [10]

Answer:

See Explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

The question is incomplete, as the shapes or their coordinates are not given.

The general explanation, however, is as follows:

To dilate a shape around the origin (i.e. (0,0)), we simply multiply the side length of the shape or the coordinates of the shapes by the scale factor.

Take for instance:

A triangle of side lengths 3,4,5 dilated around the origin by a scale factor of 2.

The new triangle will have 6, 8 and 10 as its side lengths (i.e. we multiply 3, 4 and 5 by 2).

Another instance is:

A rectangle with the following coordinates: (1,1) (4,1), (4,5) and (1,5)

When dilated around the origin by a scale factor of 2, the new rectangle will have the following coordinates: (2,2) (8,2), (8,10) and (2,10)

Remember you can do antying to an equaitn as long as you do it to both sides
treat as equaiton, but flip sign when dividng or muliplying by negaitve

isolate x
first distribute
7+3x<8(3+x)
7+3x<24+8x
minus 3x both sides
7<24+5x
minus 24 both sides
-17<5x
divide both sides by 5
-17/5<x

FINDING UNKNOWN ANGLE MEASURES-SUPPLEMENTARY ANGLES--#5
Please help with all of them!
Nataly_w [17]

Answer:

See the first 3 problems solved below.

I added the next 3 problems.

Step-by-step explanation:

1.

2x + 4x = 180

6x = 180

x = 30

2x = 2(30) = 60

4x = 4(30) = 120

2.

3x + 6x = 180

9x = 180

x = 20

3x = 3(20) = 60

6x = 6(20) = 120

3.

8x + 10x = 180

18x = 180

x = 10

8x = 8(10) = 80

10x = 10(10) = 100

4.

7x + 8x = 180

15x = 180

x = 12

7x = 7(12) = 84

8x = 8(12) = 96

5.

2x + x = 180

3x = 180

x = 60

2x = 120

6.

2x + 2x = 180

4x = 180

x = 45

2x = 2(45) = 90
