All food chains start with energy from the sun. This energy is captured by plants. Thus the living part of a food chain always starts with plant life and ends with an animal. ... Animals cannot make their own food so they must eat plants and/or other animals.

Sophie [7]

There is a direct relationship between shell color, presence of banding, and habitat because they greatly affect each other in various ways.

Relationship between shell color, presence of banding, and habitat

Shell colour shows stronger and more consistent variation with habitat than do banding patterns. Yellow colour shells are present at higher frequencies in open habitats than in woods or closed habitats.

While on the other hand, banding serve as camouflage to protect the organism from bird predators so we can conclude that there is a direct relationship between shell color, presence of banding, and habitat.

Red blood cells (a good, colorful example of an animal cell type) when placed in pure water swell up and eventually explode. Why
Snowcat [4.5K]

Answer:

When red blood cells are placed inside pure water they normally swell up and eventually explode. Red blood cells in pure water swell up because the pure water enter in the red blood cells by mean of osmosis. The water molecules are able to enter the red blood cells because the salt concentration inside the red blood cells is more than that of the pure water.

As water continue to move inside the cells, the cell swell up and eventually burst because the internal pressure inside the cell is greater than the external pressure, therefore the cell membrane become ruptured and eventually burst.
