ANSWER

QUESTION 17a

We were given the relation, y=15x, where y represents the number of new vocabularies learned, and x represents the number of weeks

Draw a horizontal line for number of weeks and a vertical line for number of vocabulary words using a scale of 5 units on both axes.

To graph this equation we need at least three points,

When

x=0, y=15(0), \Rightarrow y=0

So we plot the point (0,0)

When

x=1, y=15(1), \Rightarrow y=15

So we plot the point (1,15)

When

x=2, y=15(2), \Rightarrow y=30

So we plot the point (2,30)

Using a straight edge we draw a straight line through these three points.

The equation of the line is of the form y=mx, where m=15 is the slope.

This tells us that the 15 new vocabulary words are learned each week.

QUESTION 17 B

To find the number of new vocabulary words learnt after 5 weeks, we plug in x=5 in to the equation.

y=15(5)

This gives us

y=75

Therefore after 5 weeks, you learn 75 new vocabulary words.

QUESTION 17 C

We find the number of vocabulary words learned after 4 weeks and subtract it from the number of vocabulary words learned after 6 weeks'

To find the number of new vocabulary words learnt after 4 weeks, we plug in x=4 in to the equation.

y=15(4)

This gives us

y=60

Therefore after 4 weeks, you learn 60 new vocabulary words.

To find the number of new vocabulary words learnt after 6 weeks, we plug in x=6 in to the equation.

y=15(6)

This gives us

y=90

Therefore after 6 weeks, you learn 90 new vocabulary words.

We now subtract to get

90-60=30

Therefore you learn 30 more vocabulary words after 6 wees than after 4 weeks.

3 x 2 =6
6 x 125 = 750.
the closest answer is 785m. That is the answer.

Please help me find x
lora16 [44]

Answer:

 • x = 16

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that:

 • ∠1 = ∠2 (Corresponding Angles)
 • ∠1 = 63 - 2x
 • ∠2 = 79 - 3x

Solution:

 • 63 - 2x = 79 - 3x
 • => 3x - 2x = 79 - 63
 • => x = 16

Hence, the measure of x is 16.

Find the volume of a cylinder that has a height of 8 inches and a diameter of 14 inches.
mariarad [96]

Answer:

V=1232\ inches^3

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that,

The height of a cylinder, h = 8 inches

The diameter of the cylinder, d = 14 inches

Radius, r = 7 inches

We need to find the volume of the cylinder. The formula for the volume of a cylinder is given by :

V=\pi r^2 h\\\\=\dfrac{22}{7}\times 7^2\times 8\\\\V=1232\ inches^3

So, the volume of the cylinder is equal to 1232\ inches^3.
