\frac{2}{x}=\frac{x}{18}  Cross multiply (multiply 18 on both sides to get rid of the 18 in the denominator, and multiply "x" on both sides to get rid of the x in the denominator

(18)\frac{2}{x}= \frac{x}{18}(18)

\frac{36}{x}=x

(x)\frac{36}{x}=x(x)

36 = x²       Square root both sides to get rid of the ², and to get "x" by itself

√36 = √x²

±6 = x    Your answer is 6

You could have just done this too:

\frac{2}{x}=\frac{x}{18}

2(18) = x(x)

36 = x²

√36 = √x²

±6 = x

The vertices of a triangle are A (0, 2), B(-2,-5), and C(0,5). Find the new vertices.
Umnica [9.8K]

Answer:

see explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the translation rule

(x, y ) → (x + 3, y - 2 )

This means add 3 to the original x- coordinate and subtract 2 from the original y- coordinate, thus

A(0, 2 ) → A'(0 + 3, 2 - 2 ) → A'(3, 0 )

B(- 2, - 5 ) → B'(- 2 + 3, - 5 - 2 ) → B'(1, - 7 )

C(0, 5 ) → C'(0 + 3, 5 - 2 ) → C'(3, 3 )
