If you could show a diagram of some sort, or explain it, it would help but from how i understand it:

you can use either the Sin() Tan() or Cos() function. for example:

Sin(45)= The side opposite to the angle/ the hypotenuse

Cos(45)= side Adjacent to the angle/ the hypotenuse

Tan(45)= Opposite side to the angle/ side adjacent to the angle

Look at which side you need to find, and fill in the 84.6 where you need to. If you need hep with that please tell me. :)

Quadrilateral ABCD is dilated by a scale factor of 1 over 3 centered around (1, 2).
Ostrovityanka [42]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

B'D' ║ BD and will be shorter than segment BD.

Step-by-step explanation:

A scale factor of 1/3 means all image segments are 1/3 the length of the preimage segments (that is, shorter).

Image segments not on a line through point A(1, 2) will be parallel to the preimage segments.

For this dilation, ...

segment B prime D prime will be parallel to segment BD and will be shorter than segment BD.

A telephone pole has a wire attached to its top that is anchored to the ground. The distance from the bottom of the pole to the
Flauer [41]

Answer:

Height is 135 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

Notice that wire, pole, and ground form a right angle triangle, for which we name h = height of the pole one of the legs (the horizontal leg) is h - 51. The wire (which is the hypotenuse of the right angle triangle is: h + 24.

Then we can use the Pythagorean theorem to solve for the height (h):

h^2 + (h - 51)^2 = (h + 24)^2

h^2 + h^2 -102 h + 2601 = h^2 + 48 h + 576

grouping all terms on the left of the equal sign, we get:

h^2 -150 h + 2025 = 0

This gives two possible answers:

h = 135

and

h = 15

We opt for h = 135, because the other solution will render a negative leg for the triangle.

I don’t like to beg but I guess I’m in need..
djverab [1.8K]

Answer:

-4 < n ≤ 5

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the left inequality is an open circle and going to the right, the sign will be >

Since the right inequality sign is a closed circle and is going left, the sign would be ≤

The open circle ends at -4 so, n > -4

The closed circle ends at 5 so, n ≤ 5

You combine them and it looks like this:

-4 < n ≤ 5
