x = 6 and y = - 6

- 4 x - 2 y = -12.......equ No 1

 4 x +  8y = - 24.......equ No 2

Adding equ No 1 and equ No 2

6 y = - 36

∴ y = - 6

substitute y = - 6 in equ No 2

4 x + 8 y = -24

4 x + 8 ×( -6) = - 24

4 x - 48 = -24

4 x = -24 + 48

4 x = 24

∴ x = 6

x = 6 and y = - 6
