List four ways ways media literacy has changed.

Answer(s):

 • Satire/Satirical content (example articles can be found at https://theonion.com)
 • Digital Media/Literacy
 • The ability of recognize and/or resist Propaganda
 • Analyzing Advertising

Explanation: Media literacy is generally considered the ability of understanding different types of media, and the messages that they are sending (persuasive or informative techniques, for example). Satire, which is the use of humor to address specific social issues (politics, fake media, etc.) is one of the big ways that media literacy has developed over the years. It gives the audience a chance to learn about something interesting or take into consideration a serious topic while still being able to enjoy themselves, and is typically considered very powerful in the literary world. Saturday Night Live and Family Guy are both wonderful (and more fun, in my opinion) examples if you'd like to understand the concept more. Moving on, digital literacy is another symbol of pop culture and societal experience through more non traditional sources like; video games, smartphones, and the internet as a whole. My third pick, the resistance of Propaganda, I consider a big change as well. In the 1900s it was typically much harder to recognize someone putting ideas into your head because people assumed that their information was trustworthy, and primarily received news from their radios. For example, during Hitler's reign, there was heavy propaganda such as movies and books that portrayed him (in his country) as the good guy of the whole situation. Finally, understanding how advertisers persuade you to purchase something is a big part of how media today has changed. We now know the different types of ways that a creator can appeal to their audience, for example; emotional tactics, logical reasoning, and/or clear credibility. An ad can appeal to your sense of sympathy through pictures of starving animals or children, a hospital can give statistics of it's death rate during surgeries so that patients can make a final decision on whether or not they want that specific facility/surgery, or a governor could use their time in the military as a way to receive credibility and voting favor from the audience.

Sorry for such a long explanation, I hope this helped! :)

Can someone summarize this, please

The Set-Up

Slavery existed and women didn't have the vote in the first half of the 1800s. The people who weren't complete dirtbags wanted to change that…and had conventions to build up followers.

The Text

Truth begins her speech by pointing out that women and Black men gathering together should strike terror in the hearts of men attached to the status quo. (So you know this is going to be good.)

The status quo is that women need to be protected, and she describes all the special treatment that she never receives. Yeah; both of these are messed up. Women aren't fragile things that need to be treated like weird glass-blown angels…Sojourner Truth proves this by being strong.

…but she also proves that Black women are treated absolutely horrifically. She gets worked like a man (and beaten like a man) and so is considered less of a woman and less of human being.

Then she brings up the complete lack of logic present in inequality. She—being Black and a woman in the 1800s—is allowed less than a white man. But white dudes are getting snippy because she's asking for just a little more in the way of rights. Why are these guys getting miffed, exactly? She's not asking for them to have fewer rights than they already have; she's just asking for more than what she has.

Some of these dudes argue that women can achieve less because—check out this skewed logic—Jesus was male. Truth states that this is ridiculous. After all, God depended on Mary to bring Jesus to the world.

And speaking of Biblical women achieving Big Deal things: Eve managed to turn her world upside down with just one bite of an apple. So a statement that women can't get things done is insane: with the combined forces of determined women, there can be change again. Eventually, men will bow before the force of women's power.

Now that's how you end a speech.

TL;DR

A Black woman stood up and said, "Hey, I'm human, too. And I deserve just as many rights as Black men and white women."

And then the sound of her dropping the mic echoed through history.

strojnjashka [21]
The correct answer is that these lines talk about the immortality of art.

Ode on a Grecian Urn by John Keats is often interpreted as the celebration of art and its immortality. The figures depicted on the urn have passed long before the narrator examines the urn on which their lives were depicted. Even though they perished their story has been preserved on the urn, and in a sense they have become immortal through the art, which is that which remains long after we are gone.
