Martin Luther King Jr. was a Christian, and his strong belief about his religious preference paved the way for him to lead a non-violent resistance during the Civil Rights movement. He was the president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference in 1957 and paved the way for combating segregation in Albany, Georgia.

The view of tamed death, prevalent until the early middle ages, regards death as:
BartSMP [9]
In his seminal book on the historical periods of Western attitudes toward death, Philippe Aries describes four consecutive periods through which these attitudes evolved and transformed. According to him, the historical attitudes of Western cultures have passed through four major parts described above: “Tamed Death,” One’s Own Death,” “Thy Death,” and “Forbidden Death.” This paper, after exploring this concept through the lens of Persian Poetic Wisdom, concludes that he historical attitudes of Persian-speaking people toward death have generally passed through two major periods. The first period is an amalgamation of Aries’ “Tamed Death” and “One’s Own Death” periods, and the second period is an amalgamation of Aries’ “Thy Death” and “Forbidden Death” periods.

What did the Napoleonic Code have in common with the principles of the Enlightenment?
Schach [20]

it ensured that careers would be open on the basis of merit and not privileges of birth.

It did not guarantee women equal rights but confirmed the existing supremacy of men over women; women had fewer rights than children.

It didn't either enshrine individual rights or the security of the state- there was a balance

jolli1 [7]

Answer:

Though the Amendment abolished slavery throughout the United States, some Black Americans, particularly in the South, were subjected to other forms of involuntary labor, such as under the Black Codes, as well as subjected to white supremacist violence, and selective enforcement of statutes, besides other disabilities.
