Property rights are an incentive to produce and exchange goods because:

  • One will want to produce more in order to get more profit, which leads to technological development.
  • One has an incentive to invest in order to obtain more profit.
  • Property rights should also be extended to intellectual property, in which intellectual work is rewarded through patents.

Contract enforcement

  • It provides assurance of the rights and obligations that both parties have to fulfill.
  • It lowers the costs both for producing and exchanging goods, people know what to expect.
  • Lowers the costs that come with uncertainty.

Standards for weights and measures

  • It provides a common trading ground lowering the costs that are associated with uncertainty.
  • Makes trade easier by providing equivalences.
  • Unifies trade and makes it faster.

Although Dr. Smith believes that women and men can perform equally well on a math test, she is exploring whether women perform w
miskamm [114]

Answer:

Dr. Smith is exploring the concept of Stereotype Threat.

Explanation:

Stereotype Threat is a psychological effect, which indicates that a person's <em>behavior </em>can be <em>negatively affected</em> if this person is asked to specify if he or she belongs to a certain social group. If this social group is identified with a particular <em>stereotype</em>, the person’s behavior would be negatively affected by the stereotype threat.

Here women undergo a math test and their performance is being tested (<em>behavior</em>). They are asked to indicate their gender before the testing. According to the stereotype that Dr. Smith is researching, women are bed at math. Gender here indicates <em>belonging to the social group</em> (<u>women</u>) which is <em>identified with a stereotype</em> (<u>being bad at math</u>).

Why have we called the theories in this chapter individual theories? what do they assume about behavior?
jeyben [28]

We name the theories in this chapter individual theories to assume about behavior due to the fact they use the man or woman because of the number one supply of conduct.

The definition of behavior is the manner someone or an issue acts or reacts. A child throwing a tantrum is an example of awful conduct. The actions of chimps studied by scientists are an example of behaviors.

Behavior, deportment, and comportment refer to one's actions before or toward others, particularly during a selected event. conduct refers to actions commonly measured by means of usually widely widespread standards: His behavior at the birthday party changed into infantile. mindset refers to a person's mental view, concerning the manner he/she thinks or feels about a person or something. behavior implies the actions, actions, conduct, or features of an individual or institution toward other humans.

Action is the act of doing something. Behaviour is extra about the way in which you act. as instance when two chemical substances are blended, an movement takes place (a reaction, in reality). The manner in which those two chemical substances (or the compound they invent) act may be defined as a "behavior".
