All you have to do to calculate the mean average is add the values of the numbers together and then divide that sum by the number of numbers :D.

So in this case:
766 + 878 = 1644
1644 / 2 = 822

The average of these two numbers is 822.

What is 1/4x+1+3/4x-2/3-1/2x
Aleks04 [339]

Answer: 1/2x + 1/3

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

1/4(x) + 3/4(x) - 1/2(x) + 1 - 2/3

Step 1: Combine like terms

1/4(x) and 3/4(x) have a common denominator of 4. This means that you can add them together.

1/4(x) + 3/4(x) = 4/4(x) = x

Step 2: Find the common denominator of x in step 1 and combine like terms

x - 1/2(x) = 2/2(x) - 1/2(x)

Now that we have the common denominator of x, we can combine like terms. Its the same as adding or subtracting fractions without a variable. In this case, you must subtract 1/2(x) from 2/2(x).

2/2(x) - 1/2(x) = 1/2(x)

Step 3: Find the common denominator of the constants and combine like terms

1 - 2/3 = 3/3 - 2/3

Now combine like terms. Simply subtract 2/3 from 3/3.

3/3 - 2/3 = 1/3

Step 4: Write the simplified equation

1/2(x) + 1/3

This is the answer

Y varies directly with x. If y=25 when x=5, find y when x =-4

y =
alina1380 [7]

Answer:

y = -20

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that y varies directly with x it means changing x will also cause change in y

Mathematically it can be written as:

y∝x

Removing the proportionality symbol

y = kx

Given y=25 when x=5 Putting the values

25 = k(5)\\k = \frac{25}{5}\\k = 5

Now

y = 5x

We have to find the value of y when x = -4

Putting x=-4

y = 5(-4)\\y = -20

Hence,,

y = -20
