Answer:

12.32

Step-by-step explanation:

So by using y1 +y2/x1+x2 we can find the ratio.

the y1  will be 4 and  y2 will be 13.

the x1 will be 5 and x2 will be 6

this is equivilent to  17/11 (4+13/5+6)

17/11 =1.54545454... we can simplify to 1.54

8*1.54=12.32

this might be wrong I  haven't   done this math in years

Differentiate... How to solve this type of problem? y = cos^2(x^2 + x^3)
Licemer1 [7]

Answer:

\frac{d y}{d x} = - (2 x + 3 x^{2} )sin2(x^{2} +x^{3})

Step-by-step explanation:

<u><em>Step(i):-</em></u>

Given y = cos² (x² + x³)  ....(i)

By using differentiation formulas

a)    \frac{d}{dx} (cosx) = -sinx

b)    \frac{d}{dx} (x^{n} ) = n x ^{n-1}

<u><em>Step(ii):-</em></u>

Differentiating equation (i) with respective to 'x'

<em>First apply formula  </em>\frac{d}{dx} (x^{n} ) = n x ^{n-1}<em></em>

      \frac{d y}{d x} = 2 cos (x^{2} +x^{3} )^{2-1} \frac{d}{d x} (cos(x^{2} +x^{3})

<em>Now we will apply formula </em>

     \frac{d}{dx} (cosx) = -sinx

     \frac{d y}{d x} = 2 cos (x^{2} +x^{3} ) (-sin(x^{2} +x^{3})\frac{d}{dx} (x^{2} +x^{3} )

<em>Again apply formula  </em>\frac{d}{dx} (x^{n} ) = n x ^{n-1}<em></em>

    \frac{d y}{d x} = 2 cos (x^{2} +x^{3} ) (-sin(x^{2} +x^{3}) (2 x + 3 x^{2} )

  \frac{d y}{d x} = -2 sin (x^{2} +x^{3} ) cos(x^{2} +x^{3}) (2 x + 3 x^{2} )

we know that trigonometric formulas

Sin 2θ  = 2 sinθ cosθ

\frac{d y}{d x} = -sin2(x^{2} +x^{3}) (2 x + 3 x^{2} )

<u><em>Final answer:-</em></u>

\frac{d y}{d x} = - (2 x + 3 x^{2} )sin2(x^{2} +x^{3})

What is the area of the trapezoid shown below?<br> units2
mylen [45]

Answer and Step-by-step explanation:

Use the <u>Pythagorean Theorem </u>to solve for the <em>height</em>.

a^{2}+ b^{2}= c^{2} \\\\\\4^{2} + b^{2} = 5^{2}\\\\\\16 + b^{2} = 25\\\\\\b^{2} = 9\\\\\\b = 3

The height of the triangle is 3.

Now we can solve the shapes in  the trapezoid.

4 times 3 = 12 (Rectangle)

\frac{4 * 3}{2} = \frac{12}{2} = 6 (Triangle)

12 + 6 = 18 (Trapezoid)

The area of the trapezoid is 18 units^{2}.
