He was a man that loved philosophy, and he committed himself to translate the Greek philosophers into Arabic, especially Aristotle. Despite being criticized heavily by the religious authorities, Ibn Rushd stood his ground, and he managed to develop the philosophy in the Islamic world, creating a unique Islamic philosophy based on the Ancient Greek philosophy.
