Marquis de Lafayette of France:  a military officer, aristocrat and French politician, fought for the United States in the War of Independence against England, Baron von Steuben of Prussia: was a Prussian officer who fought during the war of Independence of the United States next to George Washington, Kosciusko and Pulaski of Poland: two illustrious Poles who fought in the American Revolution, Tadeusz Kosciuszko and Kazimierz Pułaski, to encourage men of Polish origin who lived in the United States to enlist in the Polish army,  Haym Solomon of Poland: he became a strong supporter of the cause of American independence.
