Answer:

The distribution by Fargo corporations has the following tax consequences

  • The corporation has distributed an appreciated property( that on its own makes it liable for tax)
  • The corporation must recognize the gains or losses made on the distribution as if the corporation was selling the property to the shareholder.
  • Apply capital gains tax on the gains or losses
  • capital gain = $310000-$260000 =$50000
  • Apply any annual exclusion and multiply by the Capital Gains Tax to arrive at Taxable Capital Gain to be included in incomes

The shareholder will recognize dividend received in the market value and will be subject to exemptions if applicable.

Nesterboy [21]
Answer:
A general understanding that abstraction allows programmers to hide details By hiding details, programmers are able to work with complex systems in small pieces without having to pay attention to every detail at once An explanation of how top down design implements abstraction
Example:
Through the use of abstraction, a programmer is able to take one large idea, and break it down into smaller pieces. In the context of top-down design, this means that the programmer can create one function that is made up of a set of smaller sub functions. After determining the details of those sub functions, the programmer no longer needs to take into account how they work, knowing that they will work in when called. For example when drawing a snowflake, the programmer may use top down design to split it into separate branches. Each of those branches may have sub functions that determine the detail to be repeated. This allows programmers to develop complex systems while managing complexity at multiple levels of abstraction.

b. 250.000 shares

c. 7.95

Explanation:

a. NAV = Market value of shares/number of shares = $8m/1m = $8 per share

b. At the current NAV, it can absorb up to $2 million, or 250,000 shares.

c-1. Its loss by selling 25,000 shares of IBM at $34 instead of $36 = -$2 x 25,000 = -$50,000.

Verdich [7]

Answer:

Standard Overhead rate is $1.25 per Direct labor hours

Explanation:

Total variable cost (2000 unit * $2.50) = $5,000

Total fixed cost = $5,000

Estimated Overhead cost = $10,000

Estimated Direct labor hour = 2000 unit * 4 hours = 8,000 hours

Standard Overhead rate = Estimated overhead cost / Estimated Direct labor hour

Standard Overhead rate = $10,000 / 8,000 hours

Standard Overhead rate = $1.25 per Direct labor hours
