Explanation:

8x+4=6x+1

taking x terms together we get 2x+3=0

therefore x=-3/2

now to confirm they are equal put x values in both the equations that is 8x-3/2+4=6x-3/2+1

-12+4=-9+1

-8=-8

therefore they are equal
