Indentured servants were necessary in Virgina " because there we're a high death rate which led to labor storages..." Meaning that the people that wanted to come to America needed to pay this amount of money but some can't afford it. So someone else pay for them... but the thing is that they have to work with them about 4 to 7 years and have to sign a contract. The work is harsh, it using your physical strengths and you have to work about this amount of period or you don't get paid also you wouldn't survive because without the money, you don't  have food to eat or buy. After those years, they are free to go and settle thier own land. MAIN POINT: Indentured servants were necassay in Virgina because thy are people that paid these people that wanted to come to America, but remeber these people are poor or they can't afford the money they have to pay back. So instead of paying them back, they worked for their master (that paid them  to come to America) and work for this amount of years.
