Translation is the biological process at which protein synthesis takes place based on an mRNA sequence. The amino acid sequence of the newly synthesized protein depends on the mRNA sequence used as template, at which a triplet of nucleotides (codon) results in the attachment of a particular amino acid according to the DNA codon table. According to the DNA codon table, the section of the mRNA "UCU AGG GAC CCU" is translated in the amino acid sequence "Ser-Arg-Asp-Pro", because UCU is translated to Serine, AGG to Arginine, GAC to Asparagine and CCU to Proline.
