While both B. and D. have a certain appeal to pathos, it is D. that most clearly appeals to the emotions and sentiments of the listeners and/or readers. B. refers to the illusion of aislation and to the task that has to be taken on, but it is more an appeal to the sense of duty.
D. is more more somber and appeals to the emotions by describing dark times and difficult days ahead. It then goes on to mention the almost universal support of the majority of the human race.
