Create your own simile to compare what happened to the cyclops eye
mel-nik [20]

Answer:

In the book, <u>Odysseus</u> blinds Cyclops Polyphemus to quietly escape the island, this is similar to the escape Lee and his son did in the movie "<u>A Quiet Place: Part 1</u>".

Explanation:

In the book of the Odyssey, in his third journey, Odysseus and his men manage to reach an unknown island: the island of the Cyclops.

In song IX of the Odyssey, we are told about Odysseus' plan to escape from the island. The first thing was to recommend the Cyclops to drink the exquisite wine that he brought him. After the Cyclops drank so much until he fell asleep, Odysseus stabbed a sharp stick into his eye, leaving him blind and very carefully and quietly taking the opportunity to flee.

It seems to me that this form of escape was very similar to the one in "A quiet place" movie where monsters that kill humans require their sense of hearing to find their prey.

In one scene, Lee and his son Marcus see one of these monsters head-on. And they have to use stealth and calm to escape the place and go home to their family.

Explanation:

"Roughing It" by Mark Twain takes a lot of details from his own experience as a young man going through different working experiences, and growing into was he was going to be, we can see in the story that the character tries in so many ways and so many places to be successful without achieving much, because of his lack oh ability in most of the cases.

For this assignment, you'll first write a short compare-and-contrast essay about related themes in Oedipus the King with Pablo P
mojhsa [17]

The assignment wants to know your interpretation of themes in these two works. As acting is a very personal thing, I can't show you how you interpreted the stories, but I can show you how to write this essay.

<h3>Test structure</h3>
  • Introduction: Introduce the two works, their authors, and their impact on literature and society. The introduction must be a short paragraph.

  • Body: Write two paragraphs. In the first paragraph, you will show how the themes in the two stories are similar and manage to show similar messages to the reader. In the second paragraph, you will show how these themes are different and address different messages. These paragraphs must be long.

  • Conclusion: You will summarize the most important points of the essay and emphasize the efficiency of each work in forming relevant and very significant themes for current and ancient society. This paragraph should also be short.

The theme of a story is the message that the author conveys to the reader through the text.

Among the themes of Picasso's The Tragedy we can see:

  1. Human suffering as punishment.
  2. The human loss.
  3. Emotional weakness.
  4. Disillusionment amid failures.
  5. Corrupted morals.

Among the themes of Sophocles' Oedipus the King, we can see:

  • The consequences of punishment.
  • The suffering is caused by punishment.
  • Fate versus free will.

Below you can see an example of how your introduction might be written.

<em> Sophocles' Oedipus the King and Picasso's The Tragedy are two very important works for literature and art in general because of their themes, expressions, and meanings. These themes speak directly to the reader's emotions and manage to trigger emotions, reflections, and self-knowledge in a very imposing way.</em>
