My best friend Justin was responsible for the birthday party.

The appositive phrase in the sentence is "Justin" because it renames the noun of "best friend". You should be certain to include the commas between friend and Justin and was. Appositive phrases always include commas around themselves so the sentence can still be read without the appositive.

Marina86 [1]
There was much game hanging outside the shops, and the snow powdered in the fur of the foxes and the wind blew their tails. Parallelism is the repetition of a similar grammatical structure or construction within a sentence. The most basic example of parallelism is when writing a list of actions. For example: Yesterday I cooked, cleaned and washed the dishes. Each one of the actions is written in past tense. Authors use parallelism for emphasis and to show a relation between ideas. In this sentence, the parallelism is "the snow powdered" and "the wind blew". The grammatical structures are similar.

What is the importance of the patterns of written works towards well written paragraphs
IRINA_888 [86]

Answer:

Very important. Each paragraph should begin with a topic sentence setting out what will be discussed. The body should contain properly structured sentences (no fragments or runons) containing supporting details—examples, explanations, or events. The concluding sentence should indicate in some way that the topic is completed or hint at the topic of the following paragraph. The writing should be concise but meaningful using well chosen words and avoiding repetition (except for rhetorical effect). Avoid bland words and cliches, and look for verbs that convey two ideas (such as paced for walked nervously) and replace it and they with the names of things.
