What you will do (I think) is put in 23 degrees in the place of F. Then do 23-32. From there you will have 5/9(-9). Divide 5 and 9 then multiply that into -9.

Alright, in the formula do you see where the "F" is?  That is where a fahrenheit value is going to go.  The question gives you the value, which is 23.  Plug the 23 in for F.  23-32 is -9.  That -9 is then multiplied by the outside value (remember parentheses first) which is 5/9.  -9 * 5/9 is -5 which is your answer.  Hope I helped =)

Katarina [22]

Answer:

It is proved that f(x)g(x)=|x|=|x-4|-4.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given functions are,

f(x)=|x|

g9x)=|x-4|-4

To show,

f(x)g(x)=|x|=|x-4|-4

Consider,

(fg)(x)=f(g(x))=f(|x-4|-4)=||x-4|-4|

now if,

x>4\implies x-4>0 then (fg)(x)=||x-4|-4|=|x-4|-4

x then (fg)(x)=||x-4|-4|=||-(x+4)|-4|=|x+4-4|=|x|

Hence the reslt.

Can someone simplify
Rashid [163]

Answer:

Option (2). 2\frac{1}{4}

Step-by-step explanation:

The given expression is [-5\frac{1}{4}-(-7\frac{1}{2})]

We can rewrite the fractions as,

-5\frac{1}{4} = -(5+\frac{1}{4})

-7\frac{1}{2}=-(7+\frac{1}{2})

Now we will substitute the fractions in the expression,

[-(5+\frac{1}{4})]-[-(7+\frac{1}{2})]

= -(5+\frac{1}{4})+(7+\frac{1}{2})

= (-5 + 7) + (-\frac{1}{4}+\frac{1}{2})

= 2 + \frac{2-1}{4}

= 2 + \frac{1}{4}

= 2\frac{1}{4}

Therefore, Option (2). will be the answer.
