Which conclusion accurately explains Africa's economic and government problems after independence
ivolga24 [154]
After the independence of many African countries (not all, for example, Ethiopia was never really colonized), the countries struggled both politically and economically - even more than before the independence.

A huge reason for that is that the countries were not formed along the ethnic lines, but instead they were divided by the Europeans among themselves, so when the independence was gained, there were many internal conflicts between the ethnicities and religions.

One example for this was the Rwandan Genocide - a result of the conflict between the Hutu and the Tutsi.

lianna [129]
The first blank is Harry Truman, who was President of the United States after FDR.

The second blank is the Soviets, since the Cold War was mainly characterised by the stalemate between the Communist superpower USSR and the democratic superpower US.

Like other major cities, Los Angeles has experienced violence and civil unrest. Why did Los Angeles experience riots in 1992?
egoroff_w [7]

Answer:The immediate cause of the disturbances was the arrest of an African American man, Marquette Frye, by a white California Highway Patrol officer on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. Although most accounts now agree that Frye resisted arrest, it remains unclear whether excessive force was used to subdue him.

The swift and overwhelming response of UN peacekeeping troops limited the damage and number of killings during the Rwandan genoc
Phoenix [80]

Answer:

False

Explanation:

The UN was were slow to react during and before the Rwandan genocide. The situation in Rwanda was constantly becoming more and more tense, and it has been obvious that there's going to be a military conflict on ethnic basis in the country. The UN did not react in any particular manner in order to prevent the conflict, and even when it started it was slow to react. The UN reaction was way to late, after the genocide was largely performed, and luckily for the Tutsi, their military wing managed to defeat the extremist Hutu organizations and stop the genocide.
