Which of the following is a difference between neutral energy balance and positive energy balance? Group of answer choices Energ

y intake increases during neutral energy balance, whereas energy intake decreases during positive energy balance. Neutral energy balance is necessary only during childhood, whereas positive energy balance is necessary only during adulthood. Neutral energy balance leads to an increase in muscle mass, whereas positive energy balance leads to a decrease in muscle mass. Body weight is relatively stable during neutral energy balance, whereas body weight increases during positive energy balance.

Answer:

Body weight is relatively stable during neutral energy balance, whereas body weight increases during positive energy balance.

Explanation:

Generally, when the quantity of energy input  ( from  food substance , is balance by the  quantity of energy released from the body over an extended period of time, then there is neutral energy  balance   in the organism.

When an individual consumes too much quantity of food,(over feeding) or engaged in a sedentary lifestyle, so that higher quantity of energy from food intake is  stored in the body more than is expended or burnt. This leads to storage of excess food as fats in the adipose tissues. The type of Energy gained by the body is call positive energy balance.

However, when  the energy intake or calorie intake  is lesser than the energy expenditure or calorie lost, negative energy balance occurs. This may be caused by different medical conditions.

Consequently, from above body weight will be  relatively stable in Neutral energy balance because of calorie balance, while more energy will be conserved in positive energy balance because of excess energy from excess calorie.

Explanation:

  • The difference between neutral energy balance and positive energy balance is that when the body weight is relatively stable during neutral energy balance, whereas body weight increases during positive energy balance.
  • As, there is a specific mechanism or process of energy transfer that occurs inside the system of the living beings, which is explained above in a well manner.
