Mass number = protons + neutrons

If you have the # of protons and the mass #, subtract the number of protons from the mass number to get the number of neutrons.

If you have the number of neutrons and the mass number, subtract the number of neutrons from the mass number to get the number of protons.

Mass number:

The element's mass number is nothing but the sum of total number of neutrons and protons present in the element's nucleus. For example, if the mass number of nitrogen is 14, it means that there are 7 number of protons and 7 number of neutrons in the nucleus of the nitrogen.

The relationship between the number of proton and the neutron with that of mass number is that, the latter gives the count of the former. On contrary, the atomic number denotes the weight of the atom.

Why are plastics hazardous to wildlife?
topjm [15]
In marine environment, many animals confuse the plastic littering the oceans for food including sea turtles. Once in these animal bodies the plastic accumulates, and the chemicals can cause excess estrogen to be produced, which has led to discoveries of male fish with female sex organs. For sea turtles, the plastic blocks their digestive tract and the food that is trapped releases gases that render them buoyant, and unable to dive for food. The turtle was slowly starving because a single use plastic bag, which she had eaten, was blocking her digestive tract.

The plastic contains destructible and harmful agents that is not good for human and animals health.

What would be the outcome of crossing two strains of wingless flies that belong to the same complementation group?
STALIN [3.7K]

Answer:

Wingless offspring

Explanation:

Complementation is the terminology used for finding difference in the mutation of same or different gene.

Two groups with same complementation have failed to complement each other.

Thus, two wingless flies will have the same genotype i.e “ww”

When two wingless flies are crossed following offspring are produced

ww * ww

ww, ww, ww, ww

All the offspring are wingless too
