The football team has a total of 50 jerseys. There are 35 medium-sized jerseys. What percent of the jerseys are medium-sized j
Mariulka [41]
Hello,

This problem can be simply solved by putting everything into fractions. Since there's a total of 50 shirts but 35 of them are medium sized then the fraction would be 35/50. You're trying to find the percentage so the 2nd fraction would be out of 100 so it would be ?/100.
35      ?
----  =  ----
50    100
Now you diagonal multiplication then downwards division.
100 x 35=3500
3500/50=70
So your answer is 70%!! :D
Hope this helps a bunch!!!

Veronica has 7 yards of ribbon. Each bow requires 3/4 of a yard ribbon. How many bows will she be able to make with the ribbon s
Sonbull [250]

Answer && Step-by-step explanation:

7 yards == 4/4

by simple arithmetic remove 3/4 from 7 until you can no longer obtain 3/4 from it

7 => 6*1/4

6*1/4=>5*2/4

5*2/4=>4*3/4

4*3/4=>4

4=> 3*1/4

3*1/4=>2*2/4

2*2/4=>1*3/4

1*3/4=>1

1=>1/4

1/4 remains and 9 bows were made

The perimeter of a rectangle is 200 yards. what are the dimensions of the rectangle if the length is 80 yards more than the? wid
liq [111]
P = 2(L + W)
P = 200
L = W + 80

200 = 2(W + 80 + W)
200 = 2(2W + 80)
200 = 4W + 160
200 - 160 = 4W
40 = 4W
40/4 = W
10 = W.........the width is 10 yds

An employment agency specializing in temporary construction help pays heavy equipment operators $138 per day and general laborer
prisoha [69]

Answer:

L = 2,

O = 31

Step-by-step explanation:

First using the givens, write out some formulas.

Heavy equipment operators = O

General laborers = L

  • O + L = 33
  • 138O + 87L = 4044

Now use substitution, it doesn't matter which one you substitute.

  • O = -L +33
  • 138( -L + 33 ) + 87L = 4044

Distribute and solve for L.

  • -138L + 4554 + 87L = 4044
  • -138L - 87L = 4044 - 4554
  • -225L = -510
  • L = -510/-225
  • L = 2

L = 2, meaning number of laborers employed is 2.

Now plug 2 = L into one of the original equations.

  • O + L = 33
  • O + 2 = 33
  • O = 33 - 2
  • O = 31

O = 31, meaning number of heavy equip. operators employed is 31.
