Which of the following best describes the tone of Franklin’s writing?
Gemiola [76]

Assuming this question refers to the general writing style of Benjamin Franklin, we can say it is the following:

D. Humorous and relaxed.

Benjamin Franklin is known for writing witty, humorous pieces. He pokes fun at others as well as at himself.

Many of his writings were didactic, that is, aimed to teach readers something.

He also did not feel the need to write long, wordy texts. He would go straight to the point and often create aphorisms (brief sayings).

Who is in the upstairs gallery, and why are they there? In kill a mockingbird
dolphi86 [110]

Answer:

I think you're referring to the upstairs gallery of the courtroom. That's where all the blacks are seated (because of segregation at the time) but Reverend Skies seats Dill, Jem, and Scout. They sat at the top so that Atticus wouldn't see them if he turned around.

-Sorry if this is wrong, but I think it's right!

His argument is consequentialist: he claims that the net result of doing so would be negative -- would in fact be courting large-scale disaster. One of the things that we will notice about Hardin's essay, however, is that whether he is right or wrong, he paints with a very broad brush. This makes it a good essay for the honing of your philosophical skills; you should notice that there are many places where the reasoning procees with less than total care. Hardin begins with metaphors. He points out that while the metaphor of earth as a grand spaceship has a certain popularity (or did 23 years ago) .
