28.80 + .20X = X

.20X = X - 28.80

1/5 = .20

X/5 = X -28.80

X = 5X - 144

Set the new X equal to the original X

28.80 + .20X = 5X - 144

172.8 + .20X = 5X

172.8 = 4.8X

36 = X

36$ is the original price

To check,

28.80 + (.20 x 36) = 36

28.80 + 7.2 = 36

36 = 36

What is<br> |Ay|<br> in the system of linear equations below?<br><br> -8x+y=-6<br> 3x-2y=-1
Anna71 [15]

Considering the given system of equations, it is found that:

|Ay| = \left|\begin{array}{cc}-8&1\\-6&-1\end{array}\right|

<h3>What is a system of equations?</h3>

A system of equations is when two or more variables are related, and equations are built to find the values of each variable.

In this problem, the system is:

-8x+y=-6

3x-2y=-1

In matrix form, it is given by:

\left[\begin{array}{cc}-8&1\\3&-2\end{array}\right]\left[\begin{array}{c}x\\y\end{array}\right] = \left[\begin{array}{c}-6\\-1\end{array}\right]

To find the matrix |Ay|, we replace the y coefficients of 1 and -2 by the results of -6 and -1, hence:

|Ay| = \left|\begin{array}{cc}-8&1\\-6&-1\end{array}\right|

Emily's homework is to read for more than 25 minutes every night. Which of the following amounts of time could Emily choose to r
Veronika [31]

Answer:

D. 1,520 seconds

E. 1,580 seconds

Step-by-step explanation:

Options:

A. 1,420 seconds

B. 1,480 seconds

C. 1,500 seconds

D. 1,520 seconds

E. 1,580 seconds

Emily's homework is to read for more than 25 minutes every night.

1 minute = 60 seconds

25 minutes =25\cdot 60=1,500 seconds

more than 25 minutes is more than 1,500 seconds

Options D and E give you times that are greater than 1,500 seconds, options A, B and C give you times that are less or equal to 1,500 seconds.
