I have joined many parties in my life. Last month was my Nan's birthday, Who is my cousin. My uncle organized a small but warm party for him. His mother prepared a beautiful birthday cake for him too. I was invited to that party. The party started at 7 p.m. The birthday cake was displayed prominently in the middle of the table. Our family gathered and sang the " Happy birthday" song to him. Then, He wished something, blew out the candles, and took a knife to share cake for everyone. After that, people gave him a present and I gave him a book which he likes. Surprisingly, his father had a special gift for him, it was a sports shoe because he like play football. He was ecstatic. 3. In what way does Henry David Thoreau’s writing reflect American society?
Viefleur [7K]

The right answer is B It encourages a close personal relationship with nature. Thoreau was part of a movement called TRANSCENDENTALISM. Transcendentalists wanted to “awaken” a new outlook for a new democratic age. Their goal was to foster spirituality in harmony with the perfectionism of both the divine and of divinity’s creation: nature. Nature was Thoreau's first great subject; the question of how we should live was his second. Thoreau was committed to lead what Emerson called a life of “plain living and high thinking.”
