So the Brits were more enthusiast about supporting Emperor Pedro I of Brazil than of supporting Bolivar of Spanish America.
You have to understand Britain had fiercely fought off the French Republic. Also America and Britain were NOT working in tandem as they still disliked each other. 1812 had smarted a lot in America, Britain -and in Europe where it was considered a foul act against the anti-Napleon Coalition.
