The essence of open range was the free grazing of cattle on millions of unfenced acres of public land. It was possible to become wealthy raising cattle without owning any acreage. Although most ranchers owned a base operation, some owned millions of acres. America's open range started with the Civil War [1861-1865].

The government also has the obligation to provide public services to make our lives and specially the lives of the less fortunate easier with the tax money that we pay with our hard work.
Certain states have certain laws and regulation against hateful comments and action taken on certain groups of people.
You can either talk about police, education (school), highway building, or how taxes are used to pay for all those services. And then explain how whatever service you chose affects your family. Like for example, highway building can cause you or your parents to have to leave earlier because of detours. Or with taxes you can talk about how it puts your family on a budget.
