No, because most people are infected with salmonella by eating foods that have been contaminated by the s-word. Since our society is much more industrialized, we are cleaner when it comes to making food. Salmonella is mostly found in dirtier countries such as third world countries. Obviously, other food-borne illnesses are out there, but salmonella is not as common anymore, since we are improving.
