If everything in the store is 40% off, then you can assume that the discount is .4*p, so the equation for the amount of discount would be d=.4p

The equation for the sale price of an item would be the starting price, p, minus the discount price, d. If we write this equation, we get S=p-d. Since we already solved for d, we can plug that into this new equation to get s=p-.4p.  If the regular price is $85, then we can plug that in for p.

when it is plugged in, we get s=85,.4(85). Simplify this and you get s=85-34 or s=51. This means that the sale price would be $51

What you do is 15.2 x 5, 15.2 being the height of the sticks and 5 for the number of sticks you are using. The answer will be 76 cm tall.           21                                                                                                                     15.2                                                                                                               x    5                                                                                                                ---------                                                                                                             76.0

Andy used a scale of Inch - 2 feet for a drawing of his house. On the drawing, a rectangular room measures 3 inches by 2 inches.
nexus9112 [7]

Answer:

$ 117.36

Step-by-step explanation:

On the drawing, the rectangular room measures 3 inches by 2 inches, we can convert to feet (using a scale of Inch - 2 feet )

(3 inches ×2) by (2 inches ×2)

= 6 feet by 4 feet

The Area of the room can now be calculated as

Area=( 6 feet × 4 feet)

= 24 ft^2

how much will the new carpet cost?

we know that the carpet costs $4.89 per square foot, then the cost by the area of the room= (Area× $4.89 per square foot)

=24 ft^2 x $4.89

=$ 117.36

Hence, the new carpet cost is $ 117.36
