A general rule of thumb is that if numbers are involved it's quantitative and if characteristics are involved its qualitative, so in this case it'd be quantitative.

Answer:

 1. 28.5 cm tall: qQuantitative data.
 2. Rough-textured: Qualitative data.

Step-by-step explanation:

Quantitative data include measure of value that are expressed in numbers. For example, 365 days in a year, 24 hours in a day, 7 continents of the world etc.

Qualitative data is non-numerical data. This includes characteristics (color, texture and taste), symbols and description. Its subjective and cannot be measured.

The statement in the question has both qualitative and quantitative data.

 1. 28.5 cm tall: This is a quantitative data. It is expressed in form of numbers.
 2. Rough-textured: This is qualitative. It defines one of the characteristics of the bird.

An easy way to differentiate between the two is to find whether the data is expressed in numbers. If numerical are involved e.g. mass of 78 pounds, 250 ml of water, force of 10N etc., then the data is quantitative. If it can’t be counted or measured, then its qualitative.

Consider the following pair of equations:
V125BC [204]
The pair of equations:
y = x + 4
y = -2x - 2

To solve the system of equation by substitution, you would substitute one variable for it's equivalent expression. Combining the pair of equations into one equation in only one variable. The easiest way to do this is by substituting out the variable y because it is already alone on one side of the equal sign. Substitute the y in the second equation for: x+4

x+4 = -2x - 2
solve for x
x + 2x = -2 -4
3x = -6
x = -2

now use the value for x to find y by putting into either equation.

y = x + 4
y = (-2) + 4
y = 2

solution is: (-2, 2)
