The dollar-weighted annual yield for this nine-month period is -2.7%.

<u>Solution:</u>

The investment of deposit on April 1 (Feb, March = 2 months)

\Rightarrow\frac{(9-2)}{9}\times1200=\frac{(7)}{9}\times1200

The investment of deposit on May 1 (Feb, March, April = 3 months)

\Rightarrow\frac{(9-3)}{9}\times1200=\frac{(6)}{9}\times1200

Therefore, Dollar-weighted annual yield for this nine-month period,

\Rightarrow \frac{\text{Total interest}}{\text{Total investments}}

On plugging-in the values,

\Rightarrow\frac{14820-(19800+1200+2600-8400}{19800+\frac{7}{9}(1200)+\frac{6}{9}(2600)-8400}=-0.027

In percentage notation,

-0.027=(-0.027\times100)\frac{1}{100}=-2.7\% (\because \frac{1}{100}=\%)

The automobile will not remain the primary source of transportation true or false
Ivenika [448]
I think the correct answer would be false. The automobile will remain the primary source of transportation. As we can see today, almost all of the people use automobile to go to different places. As we see in the road, different vehicles are present. Also, the automobile industry, recently, is a booming industry. We have different models, colors, brands and specifications of the vehicles. I think the use of automobiles as the primary source of transportation would still go for many years as it is the most convenient and comfortable transportation as compared to others like bicycle, train and motorcycle.

Al can make 10 chocolate and 5 candies a year and Betty can make 30 chocolate and 10 candies a year.
Aleonysh [2.5K]

Answer:

1. Betty ; 2. Betty ; 3. Candies

Explanation:

Absolute Advantage is when one can produce more output of a good per unit of input , comparatively than other .

Comparative Advantage is when one can produce a good's output by comparatively lesser opportunity cost (other good sacrifised) than other .

AI : Chocolates = 10 , Candies = 5

Betty : Chocolates = 30 , Candies = 10

As it can be seen : Betty can produce both of more - chocolates (30) & candies(10) than AI (10,5) . So, it has Absolute Advantage in both - Candies & Chocolates.

However, AI is twice more productive in chocolates than toffees (10,5) ; but Betty is thrice more productive in chocolates than toffees (30,10). Comparatively, Betty is more productive in Chocolates. So opportunity cost of Chocolate in terms of sacrifised toffees is less for Betty 0.33 (10/30) than AI 0.5 (5/10).

So, trade between them would be : Betty selling its comparative advantage good Chocolate , AI selling its less comparative disadvantage good Candies.
