With the revival of classical art, the creation of the Renaissance, the main characteristic of painting becomes humanism. A man with his natural qualities becomes the subject of painting. Renaissance painters had much more freedom in painting than medieval ones. Unlike medieval monotonous paintings, Renaissance artists emphasized human characteristics in real proportions, expressed by techniques that illustrate the impression of a three-dimensional figure. To achieve this, they used except proportions, both perspective and depth. This created the impression of real movements, and the psychological depth, which evolved humanism and naturalism.
