Distance may be defined as the the total path length covered by the object. Speed may be defined as the distance covered by the object per unit time by the body.
The distance time graph indicates the different line on the graph. The distance time graph that has straight line shows that object is at rest and the object is not moving at all.
A distance-time graph tells us how far an object has moved with time. The steeper the graph, the faster the motion. A horizontal line means the object is not changing its position - it is not moving, it is at rest. A downward sloping line means the object is returning to the start.
