if one of my eyes has poor vision(blurred) but the other eye is fine and compensates for the blurred eye , do i need glasses

I actually have that problem. I have 20/40 vision and my left eye is pretty much blind. I was prescribed glasses so that my sight in my left eye would not get worse. All to say, I would consider glasses to be necessary in this case. It definitely helps in every day life.

You would most likely be prescribed glasses that have a strong astigmastism for your left eye and if your right eye is amazing like you say then the right side of your lenses wouldn't have a prescription. The type of glasses would just be ordinary ones, you could even use contact lenses to help your situation. Definitely check up with your optician about this and if you decide to try contact lenses they should provide the help you need to start using them and teach you.
