Scandal of the second Reagan administration involving sales of arms to Iran in partial exchange for release of hostages in Leban
kiruha [24]

Answer:

The scandal of the second Reagan administration involving sales of arms to Iran in partial exchange for release of hostages in Lebanon and use of the arms money to aid the Contras in Nicaragua, which had been expressly forbidden by Congress was the Iran-Contra Affair.

Explanation:

The Iran-Contra scandal (also known as "Irangate") was based on the secret arms trade of President Ronald Reagan administration to Iran during the bloody war with his neighbor Saddam Hussein in Iraq between 1980 and 1988. Proceeds from the arms trade were channeled to the Contra guerrillas in Nicaragua. The stores were supposed to influence in two ways:

-Affects Iran, which had influence over Hezbollah, which held several US hostages in Lebanon.

-Support the anti-communist guerrilla war in Nicaragua.

The deals were made in contravention of congressional decisions banning the financing of Contra-guerrillas and the sale of weapons to Iran. In addition, both arms sales and support for guerrillas were at odds with UN sanctions.

Which of the programs listed was designed to bring economic aid to postwar Europe?
Novay_Z [31]

The European Recovery Program (ERP), popularly known as The Marshall Plan, in honor of the Secretary of State of the United States, George Marshall (the main man behind its design), was an economic recovery program organized by the United States for the reconstruction of the European countries after the Second World War. The Marshall Plan was born with the intention of helping in the reconstruction of Western Europe after the Second Great War. It was Europe, and not in the United States (except the Pearl Harbor incident), which had to bear the weight of the Nazi conquest attempt in its territory. As a result of the conflict, it had been ruined, while

The Marshall Plan was in itself a powerful feedback effect for the American economy's feedback. Why? Well, the reason is found in the American capitalist economic system itself, based on the unchangeable forces of supply and demand. In addition, USA had been configured as the banker of Europe.

For these reasons, the Marshall Plan was of vital importance for the European economic recovery, but at the same time, the help provided by Truman managed to maintain the North American hegemony during the last years, the record of the United States and the great power that is today.

An ancient philosopher once said: "Man is the measure of all things." The statement points to the idea that man is at the center
MAVERICK [17]

This phrase is attributed to Protagoras, a pre-Socratic Greek philosopher. Although the phase is open to interpretation, one of its possible meanings is the fact that humans are at the center of all existence. Moreover, human perception is the standard of objectivity by which everything else is measured. Therefore, this phrase implies that there is no "force" or "being" outside of humans that can provide us with answers to the questions of existence.

This view is closer to that of Greek religion than to that of Hebrew religion, Judaism. Judaism believes in an objetive truth and objective moral rules, contained in the Torah. Moreover, Jews believe that there is one single God, which is omnipotent and all-knowing, and therefore truth emanates from him and not from men.

On the other hand, Greek religion contains many different gods, all of which are imperfect. This suggests that the behaviour or "teachings" of the gods cannot provide us with an objective truth. Humans need to create their own moral codes and their own assumptions about the world in order to establish their societies. Moreover, gods participate very little in human life and when they do they often create chaos or are defeated, suggesting that gods are fallible and cannot control the whole world. These assumptions mean that Greeks believe humans are significantly autonomous and independent from gods, allowing them to believe that they are at the center of all knowledge and experience.
