How to find perimeters and areas

Mathematics

Perimiter is the distance around the shape. it is also the sum of the measures of the sides
so if you have a rectangle with sides legnth 4,4,2,2, then the perimiter is 4+4+2+2=12

area is dependent on the type of shape
basically, it is counting how much stuff in the shape

with a parallellogram, the area is legnth times width
so if you had a rectangle with legnth=4 and width=2 then the area is 4 times 2=8

The height of a triangle is 4000mm and is 12m2. Find the base of the triangle in m.
Mila [183]

Answer:

Base is 6 m or 6000mm or 600cm

Step-by-step explanation:

A meter is 1000 mm or 100cm

The height of the triangle is 4 meters

The area of the triangle is 12 meters²

The formula for the area of a triangle is:

\frac{1}{2} *b*h

\frac{1}{2} *b*4 = 12\\

<em>Divide both sides by 4</em>

\frac{1}{2} *b=3

<em>Multiply both sides by 2</em>

b=6

<u>The base of the triangle is 6</u>

X^2 + 6x = - 9 User:
ira [324]
X² + 10x + 25 = 16

x² + 10x + 25 - 16 = 0
x² + 10x + 9 = 0

(x + 1)(x + 9) = 0

x(x+9) + 1(x+9) = 0
x² + 9x + x + 9 = 0
x² + 10x + 9 = 0

(x + 1) = 0
x = -1

(x + 9) = 0
x = -9
