Explanation:

Social Groups involve several people who interact daily with certain things in common.  Sociologists believes it is an important part of every humans life. Due to the number of times they meet and interact there is always a sense of belonging to a group. Examples of these people are Club Association, Sport teams, Church groups, etc.

Primary Group- Members of the group are small and closely related. It does not involve a large number of people but people with an intimate relationship for the long term. The various types of groups exist as a result of this group. An example of this group is a Nuclear family. From this group, societal values and norms are learned.

Secondary Group- This group can either be large or small and are usually created for a short period. This group is created for a specific purpose and after the purpose has been executed, the group will dissolve. They are mostly formed in schools and the workplace. The main aim of this group is to complete a given task and not to build relationships.

Reference Group- According to Sociologists, it is a group where people measure their standards by comparing themselves to other people to determine their self-identity and attitudes.
