A) Railroads
Railroads helped to transport resources, manufactured goods, and people all over North America, greatly speeding up the industrialization of the entire continent, especially the United States. Where as industrialization previously existed mostly along coastal cities where materials could quickly be shipped to and from industrial centers, the entire continent was now much more easily accessible for this.
American independence was inevitable, but victory in the American Revolution was not. The American colonies were filling up quickly and building a distinctly American culture. After the French were expelled from the West and Canada, the American colonists did not “need” the British any more.
British authorities treated the three southern provinces as a separate region. The colonial administration, as it consolidated its southern position in the 1920s, detached the south from the rest of Sudan for all practical purposes.
