Albert Alexander was the first patient to be successfully treated on an infection caused by bacteria. He accidentally scratched a thorn of a rose on his face which badly infected him. One of his eyes had also been removed. He was given an infusion<span> of 160 mg of penicillin on February 12, 1941, and within 24 hours, his wounds begun to heal. He, however, died on March 1941. </span>
In early summer wasps, like bees, pollinate plants and flowers as they feed on nectar. If we were to eradicate all wasps, it would cause more problems than it would solve. So, wasps do serve a purpose, and despite being a problem at certain times of the year, they are a beneficial insect.
Open-mindedness is needed for the emerging scientific ideas to be accepted (or : to not be rejected without consideration).
Additionally, open-mindedness as a attitude often leads to new scientific ideas emerging: it means that people are more comfortable to try out new things and to test new hypotheses.
