In this quote, former Vice President John Nance Garner states that he believes the office of the vice president is quite unimportant. This most likely relates to the duties and powers that vice presidents have. Because of how unimportant this office is, Garner argues that even if a great man were to occupy it, it is unlikely he would be able to accomplish great things.
